I was looking at buying this router: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00F0DD0I6/_encoding=UTF8?coliid=I30OWBGLX9A1HS&colid=2CHCTI683KE4G.  Bought one that looked just like it on black friday for $89 at walmart.  Come to find out, it's actually a different model: https://www.amazon.com/NETGEAR-Nighthawk-AC1900-Smart-Router/dp/B01I5T9KVC.  Is it worth it?  What are the differences?

At a glance it looks like one model supports both VPN as well as third party firmware.  I would say for 89 bucks you got a good deal. You could compare the models spec's on the Netgear site.
