I hope I can find a bit of help here.

My husband has the following problem with his gaming computer (desktop):

While playing (graphic/processment-heavy) games, his screen turns randomly grey and all processment seems to die off.
He has to restart the computer.
After restarting, he can usually play for a bit more time, till the problem happens again.

No bluescreen, just everything seems to stop working alltogether and the monitor turns grey.

The questions is now, what could cause this problem to happen and which part of the computer is at its limit?

The computer is 2 years old and gets used daily for 10hours straight.
