Hi,

I am servicing someone's all in one screen and computer with Windows 10 on it. When it goes to sleep it doesn't wake, you have to restart the computer to get it back on.

I've done a search and have tried these solutions:

https://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Notebook-Hardware-and-Upgrade-Questions/Laptop-Pavilion-won-t-wake-up/td-p/6069078

https://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=HP+Pavilion+(MB+2B45)+doesn%27t+wake+from+sleep%3F&spfreload=1

I've tried various solutions under the YouTube search but none of them seem to work.

Before trying a reset I would like to know if anyone here knows of a solution that may work.

Any help will be appreciated, thanks.

John

Just a bit of clearification...

When trying to wake the computer from sleep mode the computer starts but the screen does not.

Not sure it will help but disable Fast Startup. Open a command prompt and type

shutdown /s /f /t 0

After shutdown boot the computer. See if you can now awaken form sleep.

Tried your suggestion but it didn't do anything. Thanks for the suggestion anyhow.

Not that this is your problem but I had a desktop with a similar problem and it turned out to be the PSU. I could never get out of sleep until I replaced the PSU.

Edit: I just did a quick google and it seems the Intel Management Engine can cause this problem. Possibly a driver update if the computer has IME would help. Also setting the Power Plan to default can help.
