Monitor? I would go for lower system if I had to choose.

However I would also seriously consider using high end air cooler instead of water cooler. Also I would seriously consider paying so much for such an outdated GPU as GTX 1080 Ti. GTX 1080 Ti is basically boosted 1.5 year old GTX 1080 that was already outdated at launch (GTX 1080 Pascal architecture is 95% same as 3 year old Maxwell that was outdated on launch). So unless you have unlimited money to spend, buy something cheaper now and upgrade to better one later.

And, since you do not want a system failure to erase your game scores, add affordable media and the free version of Macrium Reflect to your shopping list for the making of routine OS and Data full images.

I think its overkill to go threadripper, unless you are mean serious business.

I mean threadripper is a great platform and all but budget can be a big determining factor.

You could do the same job with a Ryzen 5 or 7, threadripper is something for really those hard core on this sort of thing.

In terms of content creation you would not do so bad if you paired say a Ryzen 7 with a GTX 1060 or above.

The common myth spread around is you need the most high end hardware and the most high end setup to make a machine that is capable of gaming and content creation.

Not true, adobe premier still will work great on the lower end Ryzens, sure not as fast but rendering can also be done with the GPU.

Threadripper is pretty much balls to the wall, enthusiast grade turbo power, and while it is a great platform its pricing may be best suited elsewhere.

I mean you still may need all the other things to to twitch streaming like a good mic or a decent webcam and a good headset.

Plus you may wish to invest in mechanical keyboards and gaming mice to have some competitive edge.

That is if you have not done so already.

Add on if you may need a good monitor too, its best to see where your needs are going to be best served.
