Hi I posted this request on the Gigabyte forum but couldn't understand the answer.  I'll be installing W10 64bit.  I do not have a skylake cpu.  Can anyone here help please?

Hi all, I’m based in the uk and this is my first post.  I’m going to build my first PC and have selected this Gigabyte motherboard: GA-H270-HD3-ATX-LGA 1151 and hope to pair it with an Intel Pentium G4600 3.6GHz Duel Core.

On the Amazon UK website a comment posted says:
“This motherboard will not even post if you use a Kaby Lake cpu.  You need to flash the BIOS first using a Skylake cpu.”

Is this comment true please?

Regards

Dave

Not true for that model - it uses a 200 series chipset which was released in conjunction with Kaby Lake.  Confirmation it will work with the G4600 with the initial BIOS release here - http://www.gigabyte.us/Motherboard/GA-H270-HD3-rev-10#support-cpu

Sometimes reviews on Amazon are for models other than the one you are looking at.  Sometimes they are just plain wrong :)
