Windows 10 printer problem hp officejet 4655

Have a new laptop with Windows 10, having trouble with HP Officejet 4655 printer. 

 

I bring up any type of file (notepad, pdf, word doc, or web page) and send to the printer.  The document will print but the printer icon stays on the taskbar for long periods (30 to 45 minutes) of time the a printer error message appears and the icon will go away.  If I send several print jobs, sometimes it will start to print the second job after the long wait and the error message appears.  Sometimes the queue will get an error and all of the print queue will have to be deleted before it will print again.

 

I have removed the printer and let Windows 10 find it anew.  It may work for 2 or 3 documents but it fails the same way again.  I downloaded and reinstalled the printer drivers.  Same problem.  I used device manager and removed the printer and the drivers. reloaded the printer drivers same thing happens.

 

Looking for suggestions.
