Hello i uave a thinkpad t400, that when i turn on, the screen will not come on. It will however come on if i turn it on and instantly close the lid of the laptop, it take about 15 minutes, then when u open the lid, i will be at my login screen, this is annoying due to the fact if i needed to install a new version of windows etc. Any help is apreciated

Welcome to Bleeping Computer.

The best way to deal with this would probably be to connect an external monitor.  If the problem persists after you install the new version of Windows it is most likely a hardware issue.

One may need to take apart that thinkpad to confirm that there is no cable(s) and/or connector(s) loose or damaged. It may be that the proper video card driver(s) are not installed or have become corrupt. This would be difficult to diagnose without the laptop physically present: Only guesses....
