I have been given a computer to look at with no real background info on what happened. I have tried the system restore point, but it errors and does not change anything. I have tried the windows repair, but it also errors. The system cant boot to safe mode either. The computer is installed with win7 64 fully up to date. It has norton on it for AV. I also removed the video card back to onboard video. Took half the 4 ram sticks out. swapped the removed sticks with the ones still inside.

Is there a way to figure out the problem and if it was caused by any form of infection?

Thank You
