My mother (65 year old lady) is being harrased badly by her neighbor (32 year old man)  by throwing fireworks at her, baiting bears on her property, creating horrible noises because he knows the cameras do not have audio and all kinds of other things.  The police have pressed harrassment charges but I need to keep her safe until he gets in front of the judge.  I installed samsung cameras on her property and have alot of good footage that I need to put together for the police before it gets erased.  I need to be able to take photos of the footage, merge footage together and possibly do split screen views of different cameras.  Samsung support has suggested that I use windows movie maker.  Do you have any suggestions of a better program that can do this stuff?  I am very worried about her safety  and your help would be greatly appreciated.  The models of the cameras are below and I believe the cameras save in an AVI format.  Thank you in advance for your help.  The guys on this forum has been great to me for several years and now I am asking for your help so I can keep her safe.

there is no way with windows media maker to edit video footage from multiple camera angles

you need a better video editor like adobe premiere pro or sony vegas pro (now magix), if your a mac user then you need apple final cut pro x

I was an editor by trade & have equipment.  If you are only talking about a few minutes of footage, I could put something together for you.

He doesn't need help.  I offered -- he declined.

... even with bad grammar, apparently not so much 'life & death' as he suggested.

I wasnt going to say anything but now I will since EditorTB discounted my mothers situation above even though I explained to him that I just sent him a few test videos to confirm that he can view them.   I told EditorTB that I didnt yet send him the incriminating videos of the neighbor harrassing her.    It sounded like he was asking me to pay him so I said that I will handle this on my own.   If the mods want, I can send you a copy of these emails.  I was not aware that we are not allowed to communicate via email.  My apologies for that.  Please let me know if you would like to see the emails.  Because of my long tenure on this forum, I feel that I need to challage Editor TB's statement above and the emails will prove them to be false.  I dont have much time so I will only respond to mods going forward on this posting.  Thanks!

In actual fact, I was trying to find a way to help you without payment for what you were asking and, as another member implied, the hardware/software needed to produce what you requested does not come cheap, nor does the experience and education to run it.  Your reason for needing help was fair enough.  I was, and still am, willing to help without charge but not if you require me to dedicate weeks/months of my time sifting through hours of video footage to prove your point.  In one of your latest emails, you included a large test file and referred to it as being a reason for 'not having much time' to say more. I responded objectively and said that I did not see what you saw.  I was paid to do the same type of thing a few years ago and even though I provided objective opinions as to what I saw versus what the client saw, he urged me to continue forward.  When he lost his case in court, he blamed me and wanted his money back.  He lost that case as well.  That was business but I have no wish to repeat the same experience on a personal level.

I answered my own questions by doing research on your equipment because you didn't have the time to answer, provided a method to upload/download files and offered my services and resources.  In my last email, if it wasn't clear, my point was that your problems are not bigger nor is your time more valuable than mine ... or anyone else's for that matter.

Your last statement to me was "I can handle this on my own and do really appreciate your time" hence my forum comment.  Even so, my offer of free help stands, provided you make some time to help me help you.  I will not take on your cause.

i dealt with the police on a daily basis when i did surveillance at a casino.  you don't need to make the video all pretty. just put it on a disc they will review all footage and they will use what they need.  if you put it all together they are gonna just break it down into sections only use the portions they need.

and i know they can't use edited footage!  it has to be original un-edited video or the prosecutor can't use it!
