Anyone else out there experimenting with or using the new folder protection in Fall Creator's Update?

I protected most of my directories to be safer from ransomware and am finding that enabling an application to write to those directories is non-trivial.  Would like to know experiences and possible time saving tips.

I have spent several hours researching your issue and I have found no reference from Microsoft or and journalist regarding any new features with the Fall Update about folder protection. Explain what you are talking about because this is not a new feature but an old feature so someone should be able to help you out.

Here is a link to Security and Management Features in Windows 10 Fall Update. From #6, it looks like the folder protection is part of Windows Defender.

Thank you very much. That indeed must be what the OP is referring to. With my reading I was unable to find that reference, thank you.
