Hi,

I am using Windows 7 and IE 11.

My homepage is MSN and I keep getting a 'MSN is not responding' message. Then it asks me if I want to recover and look for a solution which I click yes. Then it recovers, works for a little bit, then hangs or freezes again. So no solution! Very frustrating.

I posted in the forum about BSOD and hanging and freezes. Can't remember what it's called right now. Anyhow, I got some help there with the driver for my graphics card. It seemed to help and could use the internet for longer periods of time, but still would freeze and get the message after a while.

I searched the web and it seems this is a very common issue. I've tried a few of the fixes and so far they have not worked. ;(

So, does anyone have any help for me with this frustrating situation? I posted in the Windows 7 forum and got no response.

Thank you to anyone who replies and tries to help!

Sherry

hamluis,

I just want to say thank you so very, very much! I have read tons about this problem and tried resetting IE and a lot of other 'fixes' and nothing seemed to work. So thought I'd try your link and follow the instructions, thinking it would be the same outcome.

I used option number 1. The one thing I did different was to restart my pc, then reset IE from the start menu and typed in inetcpl.cpl before opening MSN just like it stated. I couldn't believe it! It seems to have worked! I am a little afraid to say that, but so far, so good!

Will let you know if anything changes and hopefully it won't. Made a restore point so I can go back to it if needed.

Again, thank you, thank you! It was very frustrating and annoying having those boxes pop up all the time and then all the freezing and stuttering when scrolling down a page.
