Hi I have a Toshiba laptop, when I tilt the screen it goes either red or green depending how I tilt it, have read that it is possibly a loose cable and wondering if it is, is it easy to do myself as a bit skint so can't afford to take to a shop at this time.

It's quite possible a search on YouTube could find a teardown instruction video for the same or similar model laptop, which would show you how it is disassembled to access various parts. Google it and see if anything useful shows up, if it does, that could help you decide whether you'd feel confident tackling it.
