Just make sure you get one from a seller with at least a 99% rating. I bought a generic battery from Ebay without issues. In fact, laptop batteries are made by only a few companies. The only difference being the OEM battery may have better quality control. But buying an OEM battery doesn't guarantee good quality.

I an see why you are looking at an alternate source. These Dell prices are ridiculous.

Greetings~Just received the battery I ordered after my last post on this thread```
 
I plugged it in and it is at 51% and charging``` Thanks guys and gal~ for taking the time to answer and respond to this thread```

Dell is asking $130 something for the batteries~Batters. com is talking $62.00```
 
I picked up this one from Ebay~I think it was $10 and some cents shipping included``` It is at 68% as I type this``` We'll see how she does```

Like I said, I purchased a generic for my CQ60 for about $12 and it lasted about three years. I can't complain. I looked at batteries.com for my battery and it was about $60. I could get a new genuine HP battery on ebay for $22.
