Uninstalling Internet Explorer 5.1

How do you uninstall Internet Explorer 5.1?

As symbiotic as Internet Explorer is to the Windows OS, it's nearly impossible without affecting some operability of the OS. The easier way to deal with the distaste of IE is to download an alternative browser and use IE only for MS updates.

You should have been offered the IE6 update ages ago!
You should not try to uninstall IE from Windows XP. Unlike other versions of Windows
where IE was a separate program, IE is a core part of the XP operarting

What OS are you using? If it is Windows you do not have to remove 5.1 to upgrade. If it is Mac..............
