I have seen many complaints about customer service - or its lack - made against these two companies but believe you me, they have nothing on their French equivalents.
My wife and I are just back from a couple of weeks across the Channel in France and the friends we were staying with the second week have lost their phone and broadband. Nothing all that unusual in that, except . . .
Their phoneline, and that of a number of others in their village, went down on the 19th of July and has never re-appeared despite a string of complaints from the victims. It is of course the classic situation of two companies involved. SFR provide the service, Orange own the lines. A fruitfull source of buck passing !
The latest in this ridiculous tale of woe is that our friends have been promised a 'technical visit' this coming Wednesday, the 11th, to try to sort out a solution. We are all keeping our fingers crossed for them.
So, if you think Comcast or Verizon have not lived up to all their promises, go to France and really suffer !
