I am looking for a new computer and all I can afford is refurished ones right now so I am looking for advice on the two I have been looking at. I am going to use them to play games(wizard101 and some minecraft) and to watch live streaming videos. My first one I have in mind is https://www.walmart.com/ip/Refurbished-HP-6305-SFF-Desktop-PC-with-AMD-A4-5300B-Processor-8GB-Memory-2TB-Hard-Drive-and-Windows-10-Pro-Monitor-Not-Included/49333480 . the second one is https://www.walmart.com/ip/Refurbished-HP-8000-Desktop-PC-with-Intel-Core-2-Duo-Processor-8GB-Memory-1TB-Hard-Drive-and-Windows-10-Home-Monitor-Not-Included/51872323. I would also like to know what would be a good extrenal harddrive case for a SATA 3.5 harddrive. I plan on keeping the harddrive in the case

Could you put more money in or is $150 US your limit?

Just asking as we may find you something better for around your price range maybe about $20 to $50 more.

I mean there is nothing wrong with your options there but you can possibly do something a little more recent for about $20 to $50 more.

If you cant I will do the core 2 duo computer.

I understand that money is tight but we have some smart people here who may give you good prices on machines for around or a little more above your price range.

Hrm, out of interest I guess this is an emergency purchase then?

I mean there is no repairing the machine you had I guess?

We could poit you in a good direction on that too, fixing a broken computer without all the cost of a best buy or computer repair shop.

The machine I had was a thrown together one that had holes in it it where there should not have had holes. And a f loopy disk drive (I think that is what that think was called) in it but not hooked up.

So dinosaur then, okay had to ask.

Asking questions is a good way for me to gather info, so yes go for the core 2 duo.

The only advice i can give you now is if you get this machine make it a dual booting machine, look into linux as windows 10 may not work too well on such a machine.

Sure that rules out gaming but the hardware you will get here will limit you.

Are you willing to buy from Ebay? How much storage do you need?

Used Dell Optiplex (Core i5 2400, 4gb RAM, 250GB HDD)

Optiplex configurator

Optiplex 390 (Core i3, 4gb RAM, 120GB SSD) This machine has an ssd so I would be much faster at booting up and open programs.

I understand.

Well then the choice is obvious, the core 2 duo model is what i would get.
