My files got infected with ransomware on 6 Jan 2017. I could not identify its name. I posted a sample file on:

https://id-ransomware.malwarehunterteam.com/identify.php

which advised me to post a new topic here, mentioning Ref:

SHA1: a0efd44e9c8eb3a685a0d2a722c74ab54f2b466d

I appreciate any help in identifying the ransomware and nominating an expert to decrypt my files for a fee.

I have made another attempt uploading the ransomnote and a sample file, I got the following response:

This ransomware has no known way of decrypting data at this time.

It is recommended to backup your encrypted files, and hope for a solution in the future.

  • ransomnote_email: syspoz02@india.com

Click here for more information about PClock (Updated)

Does this mean that my files are infected with PClock? Is there a way to decrypt my files?

Yes, it has identified it as PClock, which is not decryptable. PClock does not add a filemarker or extension to files, so it can only be identified by the ransom note. You can only restore your files from backups, or pay the criminals (not recommended).

Since the infection has been identified, rather than have everyone with individual topics, it would be best (and more manageable for staff) if victims posted any more questions, comments or requests for assistance in the below support topic discussion. To avoid unnecessary confusion, this topic is closed.
