Want to know how to do something with your computer and it is not covered here?

Unless it is a task that requires an unusual application or is very complex (best then create a post elsewhere in the forums for help), let us know what you want to do by posting a reply to this thread, and BC will add a guide to this forum.

Chances are that other members in the BC family may have the same question, and letting us know what to include will help us help them.

Regards,

Hi
I am a teacher
I found a page with short explanations of sight-word games.
I wanted to move/copy it to my disk.
I got a permission error message.
How can I copy it (short of re-typing the 1/2 page __I am a slow typist)

Right, I realise that it is here that I post oddball questions then:

how do I post a photo form my pictures folder to my post as it refuses.

[background, I have a malware infection but, by posting a screenshot picture of it I just want to know the name of the malware and if it comes under simply removal by a tool, or whether it is a HJT clear up job since if it is the later I don't want to bother them with that as I will just reformat/reinstall.]

whops almost forget to say thank you and that I love this site.

http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/t/14738/inserting-an-image-within-a-post/

Our own, our very own Scarlett has posted instructions for inserting an image (in this case a screen dump) within a post. I have linked to it above.
You might be able, instead of posting a screenshot, simply copy and paste any sort of text provided by your AV.
Cheers,
John

Hi, I have a photo, part of a screen shot of a malware infection I have just cleared it but the problem is that I would to know what malware it was, just getting rid of it which I have done leaves me unsatisfied, but I cannot post the photo from comp because it asks for http: address. what do I do then.

You need to upload the picture to one of the free sites mentioned by Scarlett, then use the URL for the picture (on the site) in the body of your post.

John

Try this site for uploading photos for free. http://photobucket.com/ Register for free then under your picture will be three options to choses from, copy and paste the bottom option and your pic should be uploaded to the site you want to put it onto. An icon should appear on your desktop to upload pictures from your computer to the net, its all self explanatory when you open the icons. HTH.

Your picture worked for me to see. Photobucket is quite good for posting photos.

In the future, please use the TESTS AND SCRIBBLES forum for testing various options. The posts in the latter are deleted on a regular basis, and posting there will make accessing and unsing this thread easier for members, while keeping it more "on topic."
Thanks,
John
