This is something weird I've noticed happening after I installed the 14393.1715 update on Win10.

ntoskrnl is constantly writing to HDD and it seems to be consuming about 5GB of space a day, give or take.

Is anyone else experiencing this sort of behaviour?

Is it normal? I can believe that it's either re-organising or setting something up, but it's been quite a few GBs of data already and I'm getting worried.

I've already checked for viruses (used Malwarebytes Anti Malware, TDSSKiller), updated my drivers, ran sfc, dism, chkdsk and clean up.

Nothing concrete is turning up.

Press the Windows key windows-key.png and the R key to open the Run box.

Type cmd (admin) in the Run box, then click/tap on OK.

When the Elevated Command Prompt opens copy and paste the command below in the Command Prompt, then press Enter.

Dism /online /cleanup-image /restoreHealth
