I've dloaded the Farbar Scanner Tool onto a thumb drive and tried to run it but no programs will run or install, even programs on the computer already. The computer is ungodly slow to even get to the point of getting to programs.

When I could get to the programs I would try to left click and Run as Amin but would get the same error for every program already on the computer i.e. file system error (-1073741819).
I quarantined 6 PUPs in Malwarebytes but was unable to find anything else?

Hello sh4rkbyt3 and welcome to Bleeping Computer.

This is not a malware issue but a Windows one and doing a quick Google search on this error I found this possible solution:

Right click on the desktop then choose Personalise > Themes > Advanced Sound Settings > Sound Scheme and set it to ‘No Sounds’.

Please let me know if this works.

Ok tried what you said and all I get is Explorer.EXE Server execution failed. Also tried to go through Control Panel but it wouldn't open up anything? Should I try in Safe Mode or futile?

Another Satch fan I take it. :guitar:

The main computer problem you have is relatively common but is a Windows issue, not a malware one.

I could attempt to help you here but there are those more qualified in dealing with Windows issues so I suggest you start a topic in our Windows forum.

When that problem is resolved you can start a new topic here if you thing that you also have a malware problem.

Am unsure which operating system you currently have so I'll supply links to both forums:

Windows 7
Windows 10

Good luck.

Nina
