This just started happening within the last year on all three Windows 7 systems I use (2 Pro and 1 Home Premium).

Anytime I drag an image to the desktop from Chrome or IE, Windows leaves the previously selected item selected along with the downloaded file:

It doesn't happen with Firefox, and it doesn't happen with Chrome or IE on any of the Windows 10 systems.

It also doesn't happen if I right click on the image and save it to the desktop, but clearly, something changed and I am trying to figure out what.

Any thoughts or ideas are welcome always!
