So I recently just moved and of course I can no longer get dsl or cable internet like I used to have.. Either satellite or hotspot.. Well thanks to my cell provider I can use unlimited hotspot access so thats my option I went with.. Now from what im reading turning your phone into a hotspot and using it as wifi is hard on it so ive been trying to use my usb plugged into my iphone(running 9.3.2) Problem is I cant get my computer to see it.. My phone is connected and my itunes pops up but doesnt show up in the network.. My itunes isnt the newest update but it was done about a year ago. Maybe thats my problem mixed with my phone also being on an older version(I hate change lol)  Ive tried a few things but this is an area that im not all familiar with. Not sure if my computer is still looking for my old ethernet connection or whats going on.. Any ideas?

Since you mention itunes I am going to assume you have a iphone.

" Problem is I cant get my computer to see it."

Perhaps these steps will help

How to use the iPhone as a personal hotspot over USB.

  1. Tap Settings then on Personal Hotspot. ...
  2. Go to the Desktop and Plug the iPhone into a USB port.
  3. Next, Choose Public Network.
  4. Close Network Window.
  5. The iPhone USB should appear connected.
