Dell Inspiron 3252

Win10, Firefox

Avira AV

Hawaiiantel DSL  7.0Mbps

Last speed test 4.67Mbps

I've noticed that the screen sometimes takes longer than it used to to load.

It might load half the page, then stop, then after a while load the rest.

Sometimes it's like the page is frozen. Can't move up or down.

Also sometimes the back page arrow will do nothing.

I've also noticed that my home page, Yahoo, seems to keep loading. The "Y" is replaced by a circle going round and round. Then the "Y" comes out again.

Never used to do this before.

I have it set to auto download any updates, So I'm not sure if anything new has been loaded.

I don't see anything new in the programs.

Something wrong or just lots of traffic?????

Is this only happening when you are online?

Please download and install Speccy to provide us with information about your computer.  Clicking on this link will automatically initiate the download.

When Speccy opens you will see a screen similar to the one below.

Click on File which is outlined in red in the screen above, and then click on Publish Snapshot.

The following screen will appear, click on Yes.

I'm running on the assumption that this problem is with opening websites?

What browser are you using?

Have you tied another browser?

Does this occur with all websites you try to open?

Part of this can be because of the slow online speed.

It's the worse when reading the news on Yahoo.

Other sights are sometimes bad.

All I use is Firefox.

When ever I run into the problem, I run a speed test. It almost always about the same.

Could be just slow speed.

I've complained to the DSL company, but they always say everything is good.

Company has also been pushing hard to change to fiber optic.

Reset your IP connection.

Press the Windows key windows-key.png  and the R key to open the Run box.

Copy and paste cmd (admin) in the Run box, then click/tap of OK

Copy and paste the commands below one at a time and pressing Enter after each command is pasted in.  After the first command you may be asked to restart the computer, ignore it and go on to the second command.

netsh winsock reset

netsh int ip reset

Close the Command Prompt and restart the computer.

Still don't know what I did, but it seemed to work.

So far everything is fast and smooth. No hang ups at all.

Thank you.
