Hi all!

Lately, I have checked whether or not all my web browser add-ons are compatible with the new WebExtentions add-on technology introduced with Firefox 57+, as detailed here: Firefox add-on technology is modernizing.

Fortunately, µBlock Origin and Ghostery are already both compatible, whereas HTTPS Everywhere will be ready for compatibility.

Unfortunately however, VTzilla is still listed as Legacy and is as such clearly discontinued / not compatible, which actually is explicitly stated on its Firefox add-ons page.

And hence, my question is as follows;

Are there any alternatives to the now discontinued VTzilla web browser add-on?

Thank you very much in advance!

Regards,

Hi, Umbra!

Thank you for the prompt and insightful reply! :)

As it happens, I did not have Google Chrome, so I had to download and install it, as well as install µBlock Origin, Ghostery and HTTPS Everywhere in order to try your suggestions. Thanks. Works great! :wink:

Of course I also still have the VirusTotal desktop app, which allows for scanning separate files on demand, but only after having downloaded them, and not on beforehand.

In addition I manually scan every file that I download with Emsisoft Anti-Malware Pro, which might be unnecessary, but I do it anyway.

Thank you very much for the help! :) The issue has been successfully resolved! :thumbup2:

Regards,
