That's not Hyperthreading, that's 8-way SMT. Only Intel has Hyperthreading. That 8-way SMT is good for keeping execution units loaded, not so good for low latency situations (like gaming), but that's not meant for gaming or any latency intensive tasks anyway.

TSMC makes those CPU's with 20nm process.

They also didn't say if that 5 GHz is turbo or base frequency.

Since the article said 'up to 5 GHz', I'm pretty sure that would likely be a single core peak turbo...

Probably yes but CPU specs were quite hard to find.
