As my title suggests i am just wondering about Malwarebytes and if i should get it back again, because i bought a license key a long time ago and got a lot of usage out of it on my very old Windows 7 machine. But when i used it on 8, 8.1 and 10 it would create unreal readings on my CPU and disk i recall and i was wondering if it's still the case today? Because a lot of people complained about it and i do not want to download it again if it's still the case :P. As it's taken me long enough to get my usages to a low level at idle lol.

I do not know what version you were using but Malwarebytes v3.2.2.2029 was released with lots of fixes. The first several versions of Malwarebytes 3.0 had many issues which the development team have resolved.

Task manager/processes with MBAM running on my system shows 1% cpu utilization...; although I heard a few folks complain several months ago of high usage, I've personally never seen it.

Yeah, it was completely normal for me apart from a minor quantum leap on the CPU. Seems when i get my new machine i'll use it on that, as i do not use my laptop as much as i use my computer. Thanks for the answers.

Would you recommend Malwarebytes over Emisoft?  I can only afford one.

They are two different programs.

Malwarebytes 3.x combines their Anti-Malware, Anti-Exploit, Anti-Ransomware, Website Protection into one product. Malwarebytes claims Malwarebytes 3.x Premium can be used as a replacement for an existing anti-virus, however, it is not an anti-virus...read here. See my comments at the bottom of Supplementing your Anti-Virus Program with Anti-Malware Tools for more information about Malwarebytes 3.x Premium.

Emsisoft Anti-Malware is an antivirus platform that includes anti-malware protection. Emsisoft uses two scanning engines, combining its technology with Bitdefender Anti-Virus and three security levels (or layers) of protection. See my comments in Choosing an Anti-Virus Program for more specific details as to why I recommend Emsisoft.

OK, thanks.  I really don't understand all the details but I assume you do  :)  so I'll go with Emsisoft.
