disabling windows xp page file

hi to all,

 

i don't know if anybody of you have disabled the page file or not

 

in my case it seems that my pc is a little faster than before but my total ram can be easily exhausted if i have some programs open the same time 

 

i will try to set my virtual memory to custom mode as follow

 

min 4000

max 8000 

 

to see what is happen...

 

windows xp sp3

4 gb ddr3 ram with 384 mb shared video memory

intel celeron g530 cpu

250 gb wd hd

For a XP computer with 4GB or RAM I would set the min and max both to 4GB or even 3GB. XP 32bit can only access 3.25GB.

yes, i agree windows x32 can see only 3.25 gb of ram so the amount of the virtual ram you mention is the correct !

 

although, some they prefer to double that amount to 8 gb but i am not sure if this help
