I'm using Windows 7.

So I downloaded the exe from a topic here about the best antivirus. The link given was https://download.bitdefender.com/windows/bp/agent/en-us/bitdefender_online.exe

After install the program never ran properly, says "Service unresponsive" and tells me to restart my PC (which doesn't help). I can't even open its full window and I must click on its little icon in the bottom right corner to open a small unmovable window with a few options:

I went to Control panel but couldn't uninstall from there because it was not even in the list with programs. Went to the offical site and tried all uninstall .exe (there are like 20 of them, WTF?!), none of them worked. Those for the 2016 version went further than the rest but in the end said "Uninstalled but with errors, please restart" and Bitdefender is still here after all this... I downloaded ESET/NOD32 uninstall tool but it couldn't even find Bitdefender. I then thought something went wrong when I first installed Bitdef so I tried to download the latest free version from the offical site with the intention to try again to uninstall after I update it. The newer installer looked in a completely different way from the first one (which seems to have been the 2016 version). Just when it was almost finished, this window appeared, literally forcing me to update/install Internet explorer (lol) with a sorry excuse:

I'll never use Bitdefender again. But what should I do now?

Antivirus programs make themselves hard to uninstall to prevent viruses from uninstalling them. If it isn't showing up on the list of programs in the control panel you need to download Revo Uninstaller https://www.revouninstaller.com/start_freeware_download.html.

After it's uninstalled you need to download the Bitdefender Removal Tool to get rid of what ever remnants may be left.

If the uninstaller tool did not help, you may want to contact and ask Bitdefender Support...
