Mark,

Welcome to BleepingComputer.  I am going to split off your second message to the "Am I infected? What do I do?" forum, which is the correct one for the kind of issue you are having.

You could not post to the other thread because it is in the Malware Removal Logs forum, and only those being actively assisted by a member of the Malware Removal Team can post to the thread specific to their problem.

Even though your problem is the same, here at Bleeping Computer we have an informal, "One Computer, One Problem, One Thread" convention so that each person who has a problem on a given computer will have only one thread/topic open at any given moment for that computer and problem.  I will update this message in a few moments once I've split off your second message so that you will have a direct link to get where you can receive help.

The thread where you will get help on the "Am I infected?" forum is:  "zed.exe" just won't go away.

Just click through on that link to be taken to it.
