Hi,
I have windows xp sp1 and tried to install sp2 from their website and from the cd they mailed me but both ways failed. Halfway through the installation, I get an error message that says, "access denied" and am forced to uninstall. Can someone help?
THanks

Usually, if there is a problem installing SP2, it is because of a malware infection. I'd suggest posting a hijack this log in our hijack forum after reading this. Please be patient - the hijack folks donate their time and there are not enough of them to go around; and don't post to your own topic because they look for posts that have not yet been replied to.

I have already done so, and the Administrator fixed the problem. See the following link:

from your HJT topic:
I couldn't open ActiveScan so I used BitDefender instead.

What happened when you tried to run Activescan?

Do you have a Windows XP CD?
