My mouse freezes for just a few seconds then I get the beeping sound like someone plugged in a usb device.

Any Ideas what to check?

Hi Brad

It sounds as if You have a defective mouse or it is plugged into a bad port. My best guess is that easy testing with a different mouse will indicate that the Mouse is bad. The last time I had a similar problem was with a external drive due to a bad cable that needed to be positioned just right, testing with a different cable showed the problem in that case.

Good Luck
