I have a problem restoring a macrium reflect image to a new hdd
I have a laptop and a desktop. Both have external backups created with macrium reflect
I just installed a new hdd on my desktop to replace one that  had failed.
The macrium rescue  cd disk I am using to restore the desktop's image backup  file  loaded okay on my desktop  but it cannot find the desktop's external  backup,  where the image file was loaded.
I suspect this is because the rescue disc was made on my laptop. I  now realize that I failed to make a dedicated macrium rescue disk for my desktop.
What if any options do I have to access the image file on my desktop's external hdd?
Thank you very much for your help in resolving this frustrating problem

Shouldn't make a difference if the bootable media was built on the laptop or desktop. The only drivers Macrium may add is the Ethernet/Wifi drivers and any USB 3 drivers.

If the desktop has USB 2.0 ports use those. Boot Macrium. Attach the drive. Then refresh Macrium to see if the external drive is detected.

I might be out in far left field, however, I'm wondering if MR's log might be in the way -- have you tried finding what you want without using any MR log file?  I mention this because in the past, an MR log was misdirecting my search until I deleted the logs and used MR without log files.
