Hi,

I know someone interested in replacing the Airport/bluetooth board in their Model No. A 1268 2011 MacBook Pro 15". I don't have the laptop yet so I don't have all of the specs on it. I looked up the model no. and there are about 22 different models http://www.everymac.com/ultimate-mac-lookup/?search_keywords=a1286 .

My question is, do I need to update or make any changes to drivers or the OS for the card to be accepted?

I found this link https://discussions.apple.com/thread/6401528?start=15&tstart=0 discussing this issue; and it seems like the answer is no, one doesn't need to change anything, but I just wanted to try to make sure.

Hi,

I went ahead and put in the standard AirPort replacement card (the same as the one that came with the MacBook Pro, the 2.1 Bluetooth). It works.

I am still curious about my original question though.
