Work your way thru these Micro$oft articles.

Internet Explorer Displays a Blank Page and May Appear to Stop Responding on

On a long shot, you could try disabling any other program that might be interfering with IE. Look at ad-blockers, privacy/security, toolbars or other add-ons to IE, etc.

Thanks Tmack.
I forgot to add that it only seems to affect forums 4 at the moment including this one(as my first post), Explorer open up any other pages.
also i did a "panda" scan and all it came up with was my documents were infected.
most of them were typed in by hand or cut and pasted into word, not sure if that is any indication for the problem.
i'm well confused, lol

Did you totally get rid of the viruses/spyware that were detected on your computer?
There is some good freeware listed Here for Spyware prevention tools and much more.
If you need help,BC has a great Spyware and Malware Removal Guide.

I think i have managed to sort it, i tried a system restore, but it was not successful (apparently i suffered a crash during restore), so thinking it was a programm fault, i restored in safe mode, and so far it seems to have cured the problem,
so now i'm going down the list of programmes that have been deleted until i have the fault again,
thanks for your input, it gave me the idea for the restore
have fun

Glad you got things figured out wayne_uk. Reinstalling one program at a time is a great way to find the culprit.
