Quietman7 has several excellent threads about this very subject.  However, you can gather ideas from our knowledge and experience also.  I use Emsisoft AntiMalware, which includes an AntiVirus engine; SpywareBlaster; the four Ruiware/BillPStudios products.  Firewall?  After some time with a few very good 3rd party firewalls, finally happily settled on: Windows 7 Firewall and Windows 7 Firewall Control (a 3rd party Windows Firewall helper).

It would also be helpful to tell us what, if any, other security programs you using.

Firewalls...check out Glasswire...; seems to make a Firewall darn well easy enough for even my elderly mother to use, and that is saying something!

Throw on Voodoo Shield or Appguard and thats all you would need with Eset. Alternatively Malwarebytes or Hitman Pro Alert would also be good choices.
