Hello everyone, I've heard that this is a great place to get help with spyware. I'm hoping someone will be able to help me out with my problem. Thank you in advance! I took my computer to best buy and they told me I'm infected with Virtumonde. I followed some instructions on here, but it hasn't worked. I got Hijack this, but everytime I run it my computer just shuts down on me, so I have no log files. I did run VundoFix but it said it could not remove C:\\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\vtust.dll If anyone could point me in the right direction, you really don't know how much I would appreciate it. Thank you very much for your time.

Did you follow all the steps in this self-help tutorial How To Remove Winfixer/Virtumonde/Msevents/Trojan.vundo? Your can try VirtumundoBegone if Vundofix is not working.

I did everything the tutorial said and it's still not gone. Everytime I try to run hijack this it shuts down my computer. Any idea where I can go for help? Thank you so much.

If you cannot get HijackThis to run, then try renaming it. Open the HijackThis Folder, find the HijackThis.exe file, right click on the file and select rename. Type Analyze.exe and hit "Enter". Double-click on Analyze.exe (which is still hijackthis) to run the program. If needed change the .exe to something else such as .bat, .com, .pif, or .scr. Example: Analyze.bat or Analyze.com

I split your HJT log away from this thread and moved it into the HJT forum. Then I saw that you had already posted one there as well so I removed this duplicate to avoid confusion.

Your log is here: http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/t/65653/hijack-this-log/

Now that your log is posted there, you should NOT make further changes to your computer (install/uninstall programs, use special fix tools, delete files on your own, etc.) unless advised by a HJT Team member. Doing so can result in system changes which may not show it the log you already posted. Further, any modification you make may complicate the malware removal process and could adversely affect your system.

Please be patient and wait for a response from an HJT Team member. It may take a while to get a response because team members are very busy working logs posted before yours. They are volunteers who will help you out as soon as possible. While waiting, please DO NOT make another reply to your log until it has been responded to by a member of the HJT Team. Generally the staff checks the forum for postings that have no replies as this makes it easier for them to identify those who have not been helped. If you post another response, a team member, looking for a new log to work may assume another HJT Team member is already assisting you and not open the thread to respond.
