I had been reading about using a screen steps recorder and found that one is built into Windows 10. I found it but despite multiple attempts to use it, launching it does nothing. I found the program files, shortcuts, and .exe files, but using them does not turn on the program... or else it's hidden for some reason. At any rate, I am not able to use. Can anyone give me some guidance, please?

Thanks for your reply, opera. Yes, I'm following the steps in your referred article but when I start the program, nothing happens. The control bar is nowhere to be seen.

There are not many hits for your type of issue, the nearest I could find was this

Thanks again, opera. I've gotten this regedit suggestion from others also and I want to give it a try, but the file that needs to be modified is missing! See attached.

Duh! Sorry, opera, I didn't follow the path correctly. I tried again, found the registry item and changed per instructions. Tried the Steps Recorder again and it now seems to be working! Thanks for the help, but it makes a novice user wonder "How in the world would we know about this?" Yeah, Microsoft!
