All of my mp3's seem to be gone from external hdd but when I transferred the folder to my desktop I could see mp3 files being moved.

The folder also seems to still have the correct size and shows the same amount of files as before having this problem.

Tried showing hidden files and system files to no avail. Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

In the second image if you double click on "Folder" are the songs there?

If you have saved them there as a library, then .mp3 files can not be there , but there should be only a library file or files. .mp3 files itself may be on other folder or where ever, even cloud files, if You want.
Are the .mp3 files in other folders visible? If so, then is everything right.
I wonder,  why file extensions are hidden? So is sometimes possible, You will not understand, which is file and which is for example folder. It may happen, if You do not use icons, but snapshots.
Added later
However, I recommend to allow file extensions. Then is much simple to understand what there is.

There is nothing in the Folders besides the album art.

Sorry Zainmax I do not understand what you are trying to say.

I've copied this music library to the library on my laptop to confirm that mp3 files were being transferred and are actually still there.

In this pic I double clicked the " A Perfect Circle" folder then the album folder for "Mer de Noms" it only contains album art.

Also showing in the pic is the music library folder properties

Download this Search Tool and Search for mp3s.  Use *.mp3 which will search for all files with a mp3 extension.

Problem solved.  Followed the file path and it turned out all the files were somehow moved into another folder within the original.

Not sure how it happened but happy to be able to fix this and not lose my library.

Thanks for the help everyone and to you JohnC-21 for the search tool.

Your Welcome,

Thanks for the update. Strange that the files were moved to a folder within the original. I should have noticed the extra Music folder in your image.
