From the outset let me say I have been grateful to use the BleepingComputer.com forums before, and I understand that this may take a while. I would be happy to pay to have this fixed. But I am also happy to follow good advice.
Bought refurbished Dell Precision M6600 (Alienware gaming computer clone) from eBay around April 2015
I have been pretty happy with it for two years, but at some point the performance graphics card went out and a tech removed it, so I was running the on-board graphics card until...
Tech recently installed a performance graphics card and SSD.
Lately Windows 10 has been performing very poorly.
-Firefox scripts hang
-My file copy batch files occasionally slow to a crawl
And AutoCAD in particular takes forever to start and open drawings. Yesterday I thought certainly it had frozen up, suddenly to see the drawing editor ready after far longer than 10 minutes.
My battery charging icon has started saying "plugged in, not charging"
Restarting sometimes makes things improve for a while.
I've been trying various things. I tried to run ClamAV twice, but it stops on a particular file.
But first it finds C:\Program Files (x86)\ATI Technologies\HydraVision\HydraGrd.exe: Win.Trojan.Parite-1025 FOUND
I have not lately run CCleaner. I am willing to reinstall Windows 10 clean if that is what's necessary. But that's a pretty big re-installation hit, so if there's another solution, I may as well find it first. And no use guessing, especially if it's a hardware problem anyway.
