no one is any wiser as to your issue, and no advice has yet been given.

if you have an issue, state it.


Instead of reading this, why not do a backup of your PC.

so if I've got this straight, you are in Notepad and trying to save a text file?

 

if so, after you have made your changes to the file, click File > Save and where it shows File name: *.txt delete the *.txt and type in what you want the file to be named.

this is a one off, as it sounds like this is the first time you are creating this file.

 

next time, just click File > Save and it'll use the same name.


Instead of reading this, why not do a backup of your PC.
