Hello,

I have the following Problem:

Yesterday I got an Oculus Rift as a present. I installed it with no problem. Since my PC has only one HDMI slot, I had to use an Displayport to HDMI Adapter for my Samsung TV I use as a Monitor. Usually it is connected through the HDMI Slot.

Now I had to redo the Oculus Setup 3 times because of Sensor Tracking Problems. The first two times were okay, I could hear sound from both Oculus when I wear it and TV.

But on the third time today, while it installed my TV (plugged into the Displayport Adapter) flickered a few times, and since then I don't get any sound from my TV anymore, while the Oculus still works (with sound). The Oculus headphones even make sounds from the PC which I believe they didn't before, but I am not quite sure. My TV also isn't displayed under "Manage Audio Devices" anymore ("show disabled/disconnected devices" is turned on). It doesn't matter if I plug the TV into the HDMI or the Displayport Adapter. Redoing the Oculus Setup also didn't work.

I already tried a clean install for my GPU (AMD Radeon 290), but it didn't help. I also tried to revert to a previous Windows system restore point, but sadly the last one I have was made after it happened. Other devices that use HDMI, like a PS4, still work as usual and produce sounds from the TV.

My TV is this Samsung TV: http://www.de-bedienungsanleitung.de/samsung-ue40ju6050uxzg-led-tv-flat-40-zoll-uhd-4k-smart-tv-146301-bedienungsanleitung

I have Windows 7.

If someone could help me, that would be great! Thank you in advance!

You have had nearly 150 views of your topic and nobody seems to have any knowledge on this subject. I suggest you might be better looking on the Oculus forums. There seem to be at least three that may be relevant -

The Oculus discussion forum -  https://forums.oculus.com/

The Oculus subreddit -  https://www.reddit.com/r/oculus/

Virtual reality frontier -  https://forums.frontier.co.uk/forumdisplay.php/69-Elite-Dangerous-Virtual-Reality

A Google search will show up plenty more.

It is policy on BC that you do not have two topics open on the one subject at the same time. Since I believe this subject is more appropriate here in 'External hardware' I have closed your topic in 'Audio and video'.
