I have some old files, encrypted by CryptXXX v1 ransomware about 2 years ago. RannohDecryptor by Kaspersky and Trend Micro Decryptor both ID the ransomwared files as CryptXXX v1 encryption, but neither are able to decrypt them. They ask for the original and decrypted files for comparison, of which I have a couple copies, but the ransomwared files are always couple kbs different the original files so the decryption programs don't accept them.

Does anyone have any ideas or tools I can use to decrypt Crypt XXX V1 files that can't be decrypted by Trend Micro's or Kaspersky's tools? Thank you.

A repository of all current knowledge regarding CryptXXX is provided by Grinler (aka Lawrence Abrams), in the: CryptXXX Ransomware Help, Information Guide and FAQ.

There is an ongoing discussion in this topic where victims can post comments, ask questions and seek further assistance. Other victims have been directed there to share information, experiences and suggestions.Rather than have everyone with individual topics, it would be best (and more manageable for staff) if you posted any more questions, comments or requests for assistance in the above support topic discussion...it includes experiences by experts, a variety of IT consultants, end users and company reps who have been affected by ransomware infections. To avoid unnecessary confusion, this topic is closed.
