I cannot copy files from a USB drive to the hard drive of my computer. I always get the message, "Windows Explorer has stopped working." I tried fixes suggested by Microsoft, but they did not work. Here is the information on the error:

I can download files from email, websites, etc. just fine; I just cannot copy them from a USB Drive to the hard drive.

The computer is an Acer Aspire 7736Z-4088, with an Intel Pentium Processor T4400, 2.2GHz, 800MHz FSB, 3 Gb memory and 320 Gb hard drive.

Any help would be greatly appreciated as this computer is going to be used at a registration event in a couple of days.

I have also discovered that I cannot copy files from other computers on the network. I get the same response -- that Windows Explorer has stopped working. It seems like any kind of file copying involving Explorer does not work.

Hi,

WER (Windows Error Reporting) data blames psdprotect.dll, a component of EgisTec MyWinLocker. Please uninstall that program and see whether if the problem(s) persist.

Best regards,

bwv848

That worked like a champ! The computer also seems to be running faster. Thanks so much for your help! This really gets me out of a jam.
