In Control Panel in Vista, there is a blue and green applet/sidebar on the left of the screen. On the bottom of it, there are Recent Tasks. I would like to clear them so Control Panel feels less cluttered. You do not need to ask why, I already just told you. (:

Have you tried switching it to Classic View?

I am not sure if this will give the information but please open regedit: Start Menu > Run > Regedit.

Navigate to the following registry key

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\ControlPanel

Post a ScreenShot. Make sure you get the right pane.

Yes but I like having the items organized with category view as classic view is overwhelming and I cannot remember where things are

Thanks for the Regedit name! I just made the key values in RecentTask1, 2, and 3 blank and it’s fixed! Thanks!
