Hi,

Mcafee has been part of the bloatware in my pc since I bought it, and every time I make a fresh install I remove it as I se another antivirus, but I can't seem to remove all the traces of this program. There are at least in 10 different locations in the registry, and there is also a stopped service McmpFsvc which I can't remove it at all.

My question is, can I delete all the sign of Mcafee from the registry without damaging anything? (of course I will make a backup before doing it)

Do you have any idea how I remove that Mcafee service?

Thanks boopme, I ran the program and after a restart I checked and there is no services of Mcafee, however there are still some registry items but are now less than it used to be. Is it ok to manually delete those registry items?

You don't need to remove any orphan registry entries. Just leave them as they do no harm. In fact removing registry entries can fragment the registry.

Your Welcome. I would also like to add BC does not recommend the use of Registry Cleaners. Sometimes the registry needs to be edited but only in the event of corruption or to recover from a particular issue.
