i have a self built computer with windows 7,

it only has a hard drive and a CD drive,

when i click on Start > Computer under devices with removable storage it lists

Floppy Disk Drive A:

and

DVD RW Drive D:

why does it list the Floppy drive A: when one is not installed?

Probably because you didn't tell the BIOS that a floppy drive is "not installed" - go into BIOS setup & check.
