Dear all first time post from anot too computer savvy user.

I think my laptop is infected with a virus or something similar. All of my file extemsions have been altered to end in .725 ie myfile.txt..725 and I now cant open any of my files. Have done a full MacAffee scan and found nothing.

If I create a new file in excel it saves and reopens without any issue.

My browsers ( edge and firefox) have had all favourites removed and some of my programs have gone back to their default settings from 2 years ago

Any help pr advice appreciated

PF

i highly doubt you will be able to recover any of those files,

this is why backups are recommended

Patfig....you should ask for help in the Forum dedicated to helping those infected with Ransomware.
