I was perusing Control Panel / programs and saw Quicktime which I uninstalled a few years ago. It says that it was installed 07/21/2017. I know that I absolutely did not install this.

Did you update or re-install iTunes about this time ?  If I remember correctly both Quicktime and the Bonjour service are bundled with it. You might as well check for Bonjour while you are at it.

You certainly should not have acquired Quicktime this way but it is possible. Apple support for Quicktime on Windows was discontinued about 18 months ago and should no longer be used on Windows computers.

I am going to be away until about the 22nd October. Time on-line will be reduced and my internet access may be limited. PMs may not be replied to as quickly as normal !
