I just bought a brand new

HP 570-p073l (Z8F37AA)

Key Specifications

  • Intel Core i7-7700
  • 8GB DDR4 / 2TB HDD
  • Radeon R5 435 2GB GDDR5
  • No OS
  • And installed Linux Mint 18.2 XFCE on to it.
  • Pryer to this I was running Ubuntu 16.04  on my 32- inch Toshiba monitor. I have not been able to find out how to set my resolution higher them  1024x768  which is the highest setting in the Display area of my Mint OS. As it stands right now the display has 4 inches of black screen on each side of my visible desktop. What can I do?
