I've been running Spybot S & D v 2.6.46 with no problems for 3 weeks or so.Yesterday & today it refuses to open in order to update & i can't uninstall it.

Trying to open it i get one error message & trying to uninstall it,i get another error massage - 'bits' are missing that will allow both operations. I did

download the  rtl150 file ( which allows 'start up') but still no luck.

I'm reluctant to try to reinstall Spybot entirely as it's such a PITA that i want to get rid of it completely - any advice please ?.

I'd attach an image of the 2 error messages, but there's no attachment function  ??.

Done it !! - Well, Revo Uninstaller did it.From download to 'GONE' was around 5 minutes. I must say that Spybot S & D is posibly the most insideous piece of software i've used to date. Every other piece of software that i've installed & then decided to un-install has done just that - but not Spybot. Never again.

A third-party utility like Revo Uninstaller Free or Portable does a more comprehensive job of searching for and removing related registry entries, files and folders.
